MÜNZING Australia Pty. Ltd. is located in Somersby, New South Wales, one hour north of Sydney. The purpose-built factory site was built in 1993 by the FENTAK® company, which was acquired by MÜNZING in 2018, and today is a center of excellence for manufacturing, research and development, sales, warehousing and distribution. The 1500 sq m facility is located on half a hectare of land which includes Australian native bushland as well as the occasional kangaroo. The site has a solar farm that provides more than 100% of the power required for all daytime activities including production. The excess power is supplied back into the electricity grid. The site produces the entire range of FENTAK® products for the FPA division. These include catalysts and hardeners, release agents, wetting agents, pigment dispersions, wax emulsions, putties, coatings, and sealants as well as many specialty products. The R&D facilities include specialized equipment such as a laboratory press for making pilot-scale particleboard, medium-density fibreboard and plywood. There is also a laboratory-scale paper treater to produce low-pressure and high-pressure laminates and overlays. The highly trained and experienced technical staff are leaders in their fields of research and development for wood panels and laminates and can provide technical assistance to their customers on a wide range of issues.
