MÜNZING has a long tradition of combining economic development with responsible resource use and social considerations. We continuously adapt our business activities to evolving environmental, social and economic requirements. We have invested in a new production facility in Malaysia to strengthen local production capacity and reduce transport distances within the region. The facility has a production capacity of approximately 50,000 metric tons per year and is expected to support local employment and economic activity. Local production reduces transport distances for selected raw materials and finished products. Approximately 10,000 metric tons per year that were previously produced in Europe and transported to Asia and Australia can now be produced closer to the relevant markets. This is expected to reduce transport-related greenhouse gas emissions. As a company with energy-intensive processes, MÜNZING works to reduce energy consumption at its production sites. Between 2022 and 2023, approximately 24% of the project budget at our Heilbronn site was allocated to energy-efficiency and emissions-reduction projects. In addition, we are developing products designed to meet defined environmental and performance criteria. In selected applications, these products can support customers in improving process efficiency, reducing resource use or extending product lifetime.
